Malians seized control of the town. Timbuktu became part of the Mali Empire.

The Malian empire disintegrated and the Tuareg controlled the city once again, for another 30 years

This was the period of rule under the Songhay Empire.

Moroccan Arma forces captured Timbuktu. The Songhay Empire collapsed.
1612
The Arma administration at Timbuktu broke away from Morrocan rule and appointed its own leader
